Google has everything – amazing search capabilities, Gmail, Google Maps, Google Earth, Picasa, YouTube, etc. But there is one major area online where they have been absent – until now. With the launch of Google Buzz in early February, Google has now officially entered the Social Networking market – Facebook beware!

There are literally hundreds of Social Networking sites out there. Some of them are great, and others are awful. Here is my top ten great Social Networking sites that you’ve probably never heard of.

So in assuming that you are keeping up with the times and already have a Fan Page for your business, do you know if it is doing any good? How many fans do you have? Do they interact with you? How old are they? Where are they from? What language do they speak? This is where Insights are extremely helpful.

It’s a New Year! What a great time to take a fresh look at your SEO strategies. While Search Engine Optimization should be an ongoing process throughout the year, reviewing some core elements is too often overlooked. By addressing all of the strategies outlined in our checklist, you will be well on your way to improving your website’s visibility in the search engines.

As 2009 winds down, I decided to look at the most visited Social Media sites by Canadians in the past year.

Here is my Top Ten List.

As Social Media continues to take over the Internet, many businesses have begun to create company profiles on many of the popular sites such as Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook. While sometimes a company Profile can be set up the same way as a personal profile, this is not always the case. For example, there is a distinct difference between a Facebook Profile and a Facebook Page. Understanding the difference between the two can save you a lot of time as well as increase your company’s visibility online.

Fads – we’ve all seen them. They come out of nowhere, become insanely popular for a few years, and then one day, they’re gone. There was Hula Hoops in the 50’s, tie-dye shirts in the 60’s and Disco in the 70’s. The Rubix Cube was all the craze in the 80’s and the 90’s saw the rise, and eventual fall of Pokemon.

As the first decade of the 2000’s comes to an end, what was the biggest fad of the last ten years? Street Racing? Energy Drinks? Reality TV? Some people have even said that Social Media sites have been the biggest fad in recent years. Well, I can’t tell you what the biggest fad of the 2000’s has been, but one thing I know for sure is that Social Media is not a fad – it is here to stay.

By now we’ve all heard of Twitter. With an estimated 12 million active users, it is by far the fastest growing Social Media site in the world. Despite it’s popularity, there are plenty of Twitter skeptics and people who just don’t “get it”. Some say that it is a waste of time or only a place for people to post useless thoughts like “this morning I ate Cheerios for breakfast…YUM!”. Although some Tweets may seem irrelevant to one person, it may be very interesting and useful to others. There are many people and companies out there that use Twitter with a purpose – to accomplish a goal or to get an important point across. With that in mind, we decided to try and find those people and companies and ask them about their Tweeting.

Here at WebFuel, we want to know: “Why do you Tweet?”
